Dear Citizens of Newgrounds,

A couple hours ago I was reading through some old news posts from some flash artists on here who were just outright bashing members and this site itself. I'm not going to say names of who was involved, but I've seen this so much and it's been going on for a while. None of it has personally happened to me.

However, I'd like to say that I don't understand the animosity happening. Newgrounds is a wonderful place where artists come together to celebrate and help each other along. Why is there so much hate?
I'm not usually a fucking optimistic kiss ass, but I'm in a good mood and defending my favourite website on the internet.

I've been an active member on this website for over four years and have been visiting for much longer. That's longer than ANY other website I frequent.
I continute to come here because I love everything about this website.
I have NEVER felt more at home and welcome in a community especially in a community of mostly males. I've heard nothing but praise, thanks and compliments on here.

Tom's created a really good thing here and I'm sooo glad a place like this exists where I can check out multimedia from artists around the world. It's really fantastic.
I may be called a Jewgrounder from many alike, but I'm proud to say I visit this website and check out the Art, Flash and Music Portal everyday.

The only reason I continue to draw everyday is to become as amazing as the artists on here. I look in the Art Portal and see the artwork that I only dream I could be as good as.
Even though I'm not anything special or even remotely known on here, I still feel like a part in this incredible community. Even if it is a really small part, it's comfy here and I'm never leaving.

Somehow I noticed that too. Maybe some people here are filled with insecurities just because that person is better than him/her or that person is just a d*** head rather than helping each other out and share some ideas.etc.

This site actually helped me out in composing my own music and strive for the better. It actually improved me a lot in some ways and I've been idolizing people in here that inspired me to make more music.

That's awesome! I'm so glad that this site has helped you in a positive way. I love to hear stories about how Newgrounds has inspired someone. It makes me happy to know I'm not the only one who feels that way. :)

I think I've been visiting since 2004ish and didn't get an account until 2006. I think because Newgrounds was just a place where I could watch videos. The only reason I got an account was so I could leave a review for "The Ultimate Showdown" believe it or not. :)

I've actually been coming to newgrounds off and on since way back in the late 90's but I've never payed any attention to the community here until I finally joined last month. I was disappointed to see that the type of thing you are taking about is so common here. I avoid most internet communities because of that type of crap, but I'm still happy I signed up and I'm also glad that not everyone here is a troll (for a while it seemed like everyone here was).

I do have to agree with Sheizenhammer, ignoring them is about the only option that seems to work.

I think that the drama with this site is worse because it gets so personal because everyone kinda knows more or less who everyone else is.
But, I do ignore it for the most part except for the occasional mod who gets on my nerves.

I don't understand it either, i have been here for a long time and i've seen some bad posts for other users. ALl i know is we enjoy your art and flashes and dont want you to leave :)

It's because 90% of people here suck with the opposite sex, become frustrated, then vent out on others to relieve said frustration.

That and the majority of folks here are like 13-14 year old immature kids...
